Default Firefox problems

For abou tthe past month or so, i have been unable to Download files with Firefox, nor can i go into the Options Dialouge. I have Scanned my PC with Avast, and also Ad-Aware SE. Now, whenever i want to download a file, i have to use Internet Explorer, witch is i pain up the arse. I have aslo stryed Re-Installing firefox, to no avail.

are you sure that files haven't downloaded; on my firefox i tell it NOT to show me the download window. Other than that, sorry i don't know what it could be. You could instead of re-installing, uninstall then install fresh.
