Default Final Cut Pro...Please help

Ok, some how after using Final cut pro for 2-3 years now, my dad is still a noob..Well ehh, the problem is, I was helping him, and he hit some button, and now the timline is missing along with some other crap..And he really needs to get this fixed, I went into Final cut pro, and the windows tab, hit defualt, but no luck, the only things that stay, are the ones from before..The big timeline thing has gone missing, need help..URGENT!!

if u have the software just uninstall and reinstall......
