Are seagate/western digital drives about equal or would one be better than the other? For motherboards, do you think usb 3.0 is going to be very big in the future or should i just go for the newer 890Gx board which will support the next amd processors?

REALLY? how so? Don't just give opinions.

Well, because I've had countless Seagate HDDs fail on me over the years compared to the few Western Digital HDDs that failed on me. That's been my experience. And the whole point of forums is to give opinions, so relax.

I agree with cboucher, I've seen a FAR greater number of Seagates fail as opposed to WD's. I know my vote counts for a lot being new to the forums, but when asked to raise hands for which HD is better, I would be jumping out of my chair for the WD.

okay thanks for the replies, I was thinking Wd, the one in my current computer has been going ~7 years and hasnt given me any issues.

Because seconds opinions matter.

And i Also prefer Western digital aswell as i have had several seagate drives fails on me in the past. As for USB 3.0 ,it wont be mainstream for atleast the next year so its your call.

I like the build. I'd go with the WD HDD...personal preference, Kingston ram is good as well!
