Fans won't turn on

Everytime after shut down the fans have to be turned on manually through the nvidia control panel. They wont stay on the settings I choose after applying and my video card fan is now stuck at 0% after a night of heavy gaming. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have the latest drivers installed.

The automatic fan speed should control the fans on the card automatically. If you set them yourself then you effectively just disabled the automatic feature. Uninstall and then reinstall the drivers for your card.
