Question Fan speed for X2 5200+

I've got a new x2 5200+ on a Asus M2N4-SLI and I'm wondering if the cpu fan is running at the proper rpm's. Basically it runs from about 3000 to 3200 rpms as indicated in Asus' PC Probe utility. Even when running Prime95 it does't speed up. I've tried enabling Q-fan in the BIOS, which actually lowered the rpm just a tick, and enabling Cool and Quiet, which again had no real effect on fan rpm. Using the retail stock heatsink and fan. How fast should this fan be spinning?

Thanks

Oh, and the HSF is a 3 pin connector and the MB is a 4.

I don't think it should speed up. Mine doesn't at all. the only fan that speeds up is my video cards.

What are your temps?

My temps are running high. See thread below.

I was just wondering if the fan wasn't running at full speed, which would explain away my temps. I've ordered an aftermarket HSF from Newegg, so hopefully that will fix it.

Thanks
