Failure to start up.

Please help with PSU/Mobo problem

Alright this is my first build but i have an expert helping me...
First i will tell you what i have then we can discuss the problem.

CASE:Aspire X-Plorer
PSU:ASPIRE ATX-AS520W
Mobo:ASUS A8V-E ATX AMD

(keeping in mind, i have my power supply connected to the mobo. cpu installed with heat sink all connected to the mobo. i also have my case power switch and reset button connected)

now the problem, is that when i connect the power to the mobo and turn the power on; everything starts for a bit (1sec) then turns off. the 'stand by power' is not even illuminated on the mobo but the power supply is in working condition. and when i short the power to the motherboard everything works fine. it seems that when i use the case power switch nothing works....

any tips would be nice. thanks you.

may be you plugged your case power switch in wrong place..

are u sure that the cpu heatsink and the cpu fan are working. Because the CPU might start to overheat and because of that the system will shut down.

someone else had a problem like this, and someone else kept on saying it was the power supply, and the guy tried everything possible, and it turned out to be the power supply .

Also, check all the wires going from your powersupply to all of the parts.
