I have had this External HD for about 3-4 months and was working perfectly fine for a while. I came home for Winter break and it didn't connect to my Desktop but it did connect to my laptop so I just thought nothing of it and went back to school while it worked with my laptop. Now I am back home and it doesn't connect to either my laptop or my desktop. Is there anyway I can get the information of the the HD because there is alot on there I really would like to keep.

Thanks,

Hey If its external u can try to take it apart and get to the HD itself.
This happed to me at work, just stopped working. Bad thing was we couldnt get any data back due to the HD crashing. You will need a usb-ide/sata adapter if you get to the HD itself inside case

Have you been making sure you are clicking on the "safely remove hardware" icon down in the taskbar? If you don't do that and just pull the plug it can result in data loss. If you aren't doing that it could have screwed it up as well as data loss. Take the hd out of the case and install it in the pc and see what you get.
