external hard drive question

i just bought a wd external hard drive. its 250gb.

it has some stuff preloaded on it, can i format it and just use it for drag and drop and not use their stuff they put on it?

Yup, I'm sure you can. They just loaded it with a program to give it a user interface and stuff.

Yeah, just format it, you'll be fine. What is preloaded on it btw? Could be some backup software or something that could be useful to you.

i already formatted it, it was fat partitioned, and i could have just converted it, but i was like what the heck, i will just format it...

so it is now ntfs... thanks guys

yeah some of the backup software on these things is rubbish... I always go ahead and format mine...
