Default expected prices for ATI 58xx series cards...

5870 2Gb $449...

5870 1Gb $399...

5850 1Gb $299...

steeper than most were predicting...

the 5870x2 will be released a few months later...

Did the prices drop at all? I was looking on newegg and didnt see any changes in price... Im in the market for a new Vid card and trying to decide what to get, something that is a much better upgrade over my 9800GTX.

I'll wait and see some benchmarks (unless there are already some), and wait till next spring. I am sure the prices would have dropped more to my budget by then.

the prices won't drop until the cards are released, that hasn't happened yet...
