Default Ethernet to USB Converter?

The ethernet port on my computer was fried in a storm. I do not want to buy another one and I need to find out if there is a tool that converts ethernet to usb because my college has ethernet ports coming out of the wall. Does anything exist that works as an intermediary converting the ethernet to usb which then connects to the computer?

Not that I know of... I could be wrong but I haven't seen one yet. I do know that they have ethernet adapters that use the USB interface instead of PCI.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to back Troy on that one. For right now, just use the USB interface to connect to the net, and once you have enough money, go buy a ethernet pci card that you can install yourself in a free pci slot.

That should do you fine if you have any open PCI slots... If you have a laptop wireless may be your only option.

Either of those suggestions from Jamxx, or DJ, will work just fine.
