Error Sound/No Popup Error

I have this problem. About every 5 minutes, my computer with a error noise, the error noise is Windows XP Critical Stop. I noticed in my Task Manager, that everytime the noise comes on the IEXPLORER.EXE comes up to. I tried uninstalling Internet Explorer, spyware scanning with all types of ad-ware scanners like Search and Destrroy and Ad-Aware. I tried a virus scan with Norton Anti-Virus, with all the updated definitions on everything. I don't know what the problem can be. If anyone can help that would be cool. Thanks. And when I hear the noise no error messages pops up or anything. I have also checked the event log in the control panel, but nothing shows up in there either. I don't know what the problem could be.

if you have the windows xp disc try to repair the windows installaton this will not loose your data and reinstall all the windows components again.
