oh boy, so i extracted all info but it now of course saying missing btlmgr, which is the first 512 byte of the drive? Anyway, I confess I am in my 2nd computer repair class through TrainSignal and of course the book stuff is one thing but realtime is totally different! 
I thought when I put my drive in, it still went to the BSOD.
What happened was I got a used desktop off ebay but the drive ended being dead so I swapped out with my hd but that still dosen't work. I thought i could reformat my old hd but as someone mentioned, i have to reconfigure the sata controller? Thanks for any further advice!
