Default EPos System

Hi there

Think this is the right section.

Right one of my uncles has a newsagent and currently has a standard till. He wants to get an epos system but got quotes for well over 2000. That is for 2 epos touch screens with printers. I was thinking can I build one of these systems myself and then he can use it in his shop as this way all he will be paying is the hardware which I have brought to build it. Also wondering about the software that is used on these systems and how it is connected all together. I did a bit of research on Google but found nothing on building a system. If you guys can help or find a guide that may be able to help then that would be great and much appreciated.

You could proberbly use some pretty low-end hardware, and a Touch Screen monitor.

I'm thinking that it might be best if you got something like: http://www.epos-epos.co.uk/Epos_Special_Offer.aspx.

You wouldn't have to worry about much that way, as it seems to be on a rolling contract.
