Emule muting my sound card

can anyone help me here

if emule is running and im watching a movie on divx then after about 4mins the sound card gets muted.

this only happens when emule is running. no problems when im playing online or downloading of the net, just emule. its like its getting its wires crossed.

the sound card only mutes itself when both are running. when either one is running by itself its fine.

sound card is USB sound balster AUDIGY 2 NX, windows is xp

tried to reinstall drivers and even reinstalled windows since it has happened.

any suggestions?

u could try a different sound card. If u have onboard sound then try using it, if not then borrow a sound card from a friend.

could do but the reason why im using this card is that it is an external USB which means it can reach to my stack of seperates in the corner of my room completing my multimedia setup. im going to see how long an optical cable i can get and if it reaches my comp i will buy a new internal sound card
