Default Email Storage vs. Web Page Storage

Recently all of the competing email companies have been reasing there email sotrage capacties to large amounts as much as 2gb on their free plans. However, it is nearly impossible to find over 100 mb of free web storage.

Is there a difference betweween email hosting space and web storage that u would, say post a webpage on. Why is the latter more expensive, even without considering the domain name registartion charges?

well its more expensive when you get webspace because of the features it offers such as an ftp which is much easier than going online going to the emails website then login in and plus there probably a limit to size of a file when you try to archive it to the email
