Hi all, not been on here for a while.
i have four p.c's running in my home from 1 router on talktalk broadband.
on two of the p.c's(1 laptop wireless) (1 desktop ethernet) i received an email (outlook express) from a friend saying he was changing his email address. there was not an attachment with it.
after i had read the email a window opened, it said that outlook express had encountered a problem and had to close!
this also happened to the desktop p.c.
unfortunately when we opened outlook again all of our inbox contents had gone!
both are running windows xp.

has anyone heard of this happening before?

where are the files likely to have vanished to?

they are not in the deleted items, nor the recycle bin.

neither are they in any of the sub folders.

the attack did not effect the contents of other email folders.

please relocate if this has been posted in the wrong location.

thanks in advance.

i guess no one cared lol.

anyway, i used a tool called "oescan" which located the missing files and allowed me to reinstate them.
problem solved.
