Default Editing video

I have a copy of a video on my computer (legal) and want to burn it to a dvd. I have never done this before, and would like to know what program is the best for this. I also need to edit it and cut off the first few minutes to make it small enough to fit on the dvd disc. I need a program for that also. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Get nero, and use nerovision. You can edit them and make your own menus and then it will let you burn it.
