Default Ebay

I was wondering what you guys thought about buying used video cards from ebay. im looking at a Geforce FX5500 for one of my older computers. Is there any problem buying a used card as long as it works? Thanks a bunch.

Make sure the seller has a good feedback rating and you 'should' be ok

I bought my 9800 Pro off Ebay and had no problems with it at all

Used cards will always work unless the owner fried them :P

In fact, I'm about to post my 9800 Pro on eBay and re-sell it, maybe I can turn a profit on it ??

I've heard some people worrying though.

Apparently some of the cards on eBay have been HW banned by Punkbuster etc., so buying one of those by accident won't do you any favours. But I'm sure those are rare, you should get a good deal if you know where to look and who to buy from.

It can be dangerous, yes, but you have to look at your options. Budget or guarantee? I'd say a good amount of sellers are legit, but who knows? There are tons of fake items being sold on eBay. But that's life. Risk, risk, and more risk.
