yeah, you can't afford 180 for the chip and 110 for a mobo, P5NSLI, then you need to wait..cause thats dirt cheap for a core-2duo setup....sheeeeeshh kids these days

It's hard to say when the price will come down further for the Core 2 Duo's. They are doing so well and Intel knows it too. Well, it may probably come down when AMD comes out with newer CPU's to give Intel more competition or when Intel comes out with next generation Core 2 Duo or Core Quad Duo. By the way, Core Quad Duo is scheduled to come out early to middle 2007!!!!!! Mainstream desktop!!!

You never know what kind of situation financialy people could be in

true..but if you can't afford that, which isn't much, you need to look at other processors...180 for a top of the line processor is CHEAP...so yeah, I stand firm: If you can't afford that, sheesh, it's not going to get much cheaper for a while.

Especially since AMD won't come out with something too new and the Quad Core's won't affect teh core2 6300 too much since they are in the thousands for a processor with not much better benchmarks.
