Default DVI to vga adapter

If I have a video card that only has a DVI output, and a monitor that only has a VGA input, and I buy the adapter, will there be any noticeable difference in quality from a monitor with a DVI input?

DVI is noticeably better image quality. Text especially looks much sharper.

On a CRT monitor, there is no real image quality difference between DVI and VGA. On an LCD, you may notice a difference if you look really, really hard.

Nope, not nearly enough to warrant a new monitor.
