Default DVI card

Hi, I was wondering where I could get a cheap VGI card? I am not a gamer so it need not be expensive. I may view movies on the monitor on occasions. Please help me out.

Also, are these cards universal? Thanks for any help.

What motherboard do you have? As we need to know what slots it has before recommending one.

I think this is it Intel corp D945GTP Does that sound right?

As for the card, I am talking minimal option / money.

OK, that has a PCI-E slot, so you can choose from a much larger range of video cards. As you're don't have very demanding requirements, I'd recommend something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814134030 or this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131063
ATI or Nvidia? Those two cards both will provide the same performance and have good video/HD playback engines. So it's just a personal preference. Red or green?

Do I have to have a DVI card in order to use DVI monitor as I only have a VGA video card? Or is there some kind of an adapter that will do the trick in order for me to have DVI clarity?

Also, could I get something off of ebay even cheaper? If so, could you recommend something if you don't mind, please?

You can buy a DVI to VGA adapter, but not VGA to DVI. I personally think the difference is negligble. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102536 Cheapest I could find, it won't have all the HD playback or DX10 support the other two cards has however.

So what you are saying is there is not that big of difference between using VGA and DVI?

You may see a very tiny differerence in small text, and you won't see that unless you look hard.
All the cards I recommended have DVI and VGA outputs anyway so you can use DVI if your monitor has an input port.

worshipme, Can you do me a favor please and check on ebay and let me know of comparable video cards to one of the first 2 that you recommended and for a little cheaper. I would greatly appreciate it.
