Default DVI Cable to Montior

I have a VGA connection to a LCD monitor and it only gives me 3 different resolutions, it has DVI connector on the monitor and i was wondering if i go with a DVI connection will it offer more types of resolution

VGA resolutions= 1024x768, 960x600, 800x600

Yes, if you have a DVI output on your video card, it will give all the options your monitor supports and have a better quality picture.

which rig is this in your sig?
if its your gaming rig
then you want DVI connections
im sure you know this

i noticed a huge quality difference when i started to use a DVI cable.
Its all clear and crisp, and you wouldnt need to worry about those auto adjust things on the monitor
