What does one mean by Dual Layer?

They have this new technology that burners can now do what comercial burners have done for years. Which is dual layer dvd's.

Meaning instead of a single layer of data their is two so you can get twice the info on one cd. It takes two different lasers to read each layer. But now you can copy a full dvd now.
