Wink Dvd-rom

I have a pc that i bought a combo drive for that burns and plays cds and DVDs. I put in a DVD that my friend made for his school club to burn some copies for everyone (completely legal, dont worry :P) and wanted to test it first.

I pressed autoplay and in ALL of my DVD playing programs, it had the audio, but no video. If there was video, it was just a set fuzz. Not even any movement.

Any ideas on why the DVD-ROM on my drive wont work?

And then second of all, I dont have another drive so i cant just copy discs so is there any way to capture the ISO of a DVD on the drive, download it to the PC, and then burn it onto a new DVD (all using the same drive)
