Default DVD Region questions

I am wondering about these programs that claim to make your DVD player "region free" but I am not sure if I should try any of them. My DVD region isn't locked, I haven't changed it once yet, I would like to get some DVDs from other regions, but I don't really want to have to worry about having it lock up.

Does anyone know of any that are good and that actually work, preferably ones that are free? I am willing to buy a program, too, if it is realitively cheap ($50 bucks). Thanks.

Region free programs do not make your dvd region free, they simple play the dvd without performing the region check that other programs are required too.

My solution is I have dvds from 2 regions, so I have a dvd drive for each region cos drives only cost like $20.

How many times can you change your region cos I've lost count.
