To cover all bases, I would run memtest86, and just see if there isn't a memory error. I say this because of how long it took you to install windows. If the driver surely isn't defective, then it shouldn'tve taken that long.
The next thing to do is test it with a different computer (correct me if you have done this, but it's confusing keeping up with what you've tried
After that, you might have a go at a linux live CD/DVD. See if anything hangs there.
But, if it works fine in another computer, then there's something fishy going on with drivers or the MB. If it took 12 hours to install, something could've been botched during that, so it still could be a software-level issue (driver/os/etc).
