It's not really a BS card, it offloads anything network related from the CPU to the card. In essence it's a computer inside your computer. It has it's own 400 Mhz processor, 64MB DDR RAM, and a Linux OS. They include a torrent client with that runs inside the card with it. But it costs way too much IMO.

I have a stupid question: WTF is the point of a card with its own CPU and RAM??? Wasted money IMO.

Point taken. Never thought about it that way. I just figured a 10/100/1000 NIC is the same whether onboard or dedicated and don't see a performance difference between the two.

No load on the CPU. They really aren't worth the money, maybe if they were a lot cheaper.
