Most of the time, it usually is per core, but I can't find it on that page. Most dual core speeds are per core, so I don't think there is a problem there

so if that dual processor is 3 Ghz per core
then the actual speed of the whole processor is 6 Ghz........ right?

that's actually not right. total core speeds don't affect the average processor speed. i have a pentium d 945 dual core at 3.0 ghz clock each core... well... its 3ghz.. nothing special with speeds...

okay
so why dont we see the processors getting very far in terms of power?
is there some kind of restriction that i dont see?
or what
or is it actually that hard to design one?

its 2 cpus in one
there spiting the work
2 people woking on something usually get it done faster then one
same goes for dual core

price and ive every computer that i have had to date has had an intel inside
i want to try something different

price of the quad will be dropping by the end of the month. Also, right now isn't the best time to try AMD. Intel's core 2 family is beating AMDs in almost every category.

True that. I hate saying because I WAS an amd fanboy. but now I want an Intel lol.
