Default Dual Layer burner doesn't read DL

Hi, I just bought a Samsung SH-222L Dual Layer burner. I have hooked it up to my computer and it reads the drive. When i put in a Verbatim DVD +R DL the drive (Looking in "My Computer") goes to Cd-Drive. When I put a DVD-R it says DVD-R. When I try to click on the drive when the DVD +R DL is inserted in it says "drive is not accessible. Incorrect Function." I have never seen this before. Any idea on what my problem is?

Thanks,
Stoked

Also will not read DVD+R.

Hmm... Well I got the drive off eBay new. I checked the lastedt firmware and it matches. I'll look for some drivers for it hopefully something comes up. Maybe the seller has some idea. Thanks for the reply though.
