Question Dual Hd 4870x2's Performance?

Would adding Two 4870x2 Sapphire graphics cards do anything more spectacular than running just one. Here's my (wanted) set up.

CPU-i7 940
Mobo-Gigabyte x58 extreme
memory-OCZ 6gb (3x2gb)triple channel
HDD-Western Digital VelociRaptor 300gb
PSU-ABS Tagan BZ800 OR depending on if using dual 4870x2's 1000 watt
Not sure on what case to use yet.

I would be using the computer for graphic design and gaming.
I would like insane graphics , using a 37inch 1080p monitor.
Thanks

unless you need to max out crysis with 90 fps
other wise you only need one to get 50-60 on ever other game on the market

You would just need the drivers for CrossFire and a bridge. You would get better results going for the GTX 295 setup.

That would be a smoking setup. With the proper drivers, they should run nicely.

Here's a review for ya: Radeon HD 4870 X2 and Crossfire review

1080p is only 1920x1200, not 2560x1600. I don't think it would be worth going with more than one.
