Dual Core question.

I plan on using my CPU for:

1. Listening to music via MMJB
2. Talking to people via AIM
3. Browsing Websites via Mozilla
4. Burning CDs & DVDs
5. Playing games (AoE II & III, Diablo 2, WoW, Battlefield 2 [maybe])

not true, dont get a amd 64 3000+ for burning dvd's i have one and the cpu runs at 100% while burning one. thats why im thinking of a X2 3800+

i was talking to a guy i know and he said that taking an avi file to dvd-r format takes up alot of system resources so it may just be the files im loading, im going to try with a different file sometime

Get, a 3.0ghz P.4. That will do you just fine.

burning DVDs will take up 100% cpu usage no matter what kind of CPU you are using ;) But with a dual core you can burn a DVD while playing games.
