Dual core patch?

My new rigs going to have a E6600 Core duo 2 processor, and i was wondering if i have to install a patch or somthing for windows so it uses both cores correctly.

I downloaded drivers for my AMD X2, i dunno if they are truly nescessary but i magazine i read said it should help with some of the bugs with them, but i doubt there are many bugs now since theyve been around a little longer

I beleived you only needed a patch for Pent D processors because it was a two core processor, not a true dual core processor.
