Default Dual Channel Memory

I know when your running Dual Channel Memory They have to be the same size..
and it should be the same company...

but that i was wondering....do they have to be the same company..and if they are not what are the side effects?

To get the proper performance of dual channel memory both modules should of the same size and type (including manufacturers). If you mix and match then you're normally running into different latencies and one can handicap the other.

if u want to get dual channel memory u have to buy the 2 modules together, thats why its sold that way :P
