it did for me i think. i remember a box popping up, like the install manager thing, and it downloaded and installed some stuff. i dunno. i really am a linux noob. i know the very basics

Usually, it involves typing sudo and hen your command.

Often, you type something like this:

sudo sh package_install_0.5.4.sh
