umm i have not tried it no but wouldnt it be similar to partition magic as that reboots to perform resize and gparted live cd ???

just to add to the list of things i have tried i just turned my recycle bin off which had 5Gb reserved for deleted items but i turned it off tried shrinking and nothing ?

i also tried turning it off rebooting and trying to shrink ..... nothing

what you guys think bout ccleaner ? would that help well im gonna try it now as i got nothing to lose

I suggested acronis coz there seem to be a few people who have had success with that when everything else has failed.

just aquired acronis disk director *cough T word and it worked first time

if it was upto me id give you a hundred rep points and a kiss lol

i feel i should send u some money or something lol (if i wasnt skint)

thank u sooooo much m8 although i still gotta actually install windows xp and dual boot but i guess i have 2 well reccomended guides for that thanks guys i will post here if i encouter n e more problems
