i have an ide hdd with sata adapter
mobo:ASRock A55M-HVS i got new mobo and i got a screen that says select source: 1.generate the achi driver diskette for windows xp 2.generate the raid driver diskette for windows xp 3.generate the achi driver diskette for windows xp64 4.generate the raid driver diskette for windows xp64 cpu:AMD Athlon II X4 631 my o/s is windows xp i think its 32 is it based on cpu or what? |

i do that it writes to usb and says:
insert the driver disk when istalll OS reboot system now press any key to contiune it just keeps repeating how do i install os with disk if the pc need the mobo disk to start the pc? |

Well it needs sata drivers... can't you goto your manufacturer website and get them and download them to a disk and when it asks put the disk in?

What are you trying to do with the hard drive? Is it for a clean windows install?

Could you go into the BIOS and turn the SATA settings to the older setting (sometimes called Compatibility mode)
