Default driver recovery

ok, long story short i was runing vista, came home on day registry crashed so i pluged my hard drive into another computer to save my files and i remebered how much of a pain it was to find all the drivers when i upgraded from xp.
So my question is is there any way to make a backup of the drivers if i have the drive plugged into another computer
