Driver problem

Hi all,
My mums old laptop didnt work so i freshly installed windows 2000 professional via the professional cd. Now when i put a cd in the Dvd-rom it doesn't read it and there is no dvd drive also it says that i need the drivers for it. i need a Compaq DVD-ROM SD-C2402 but there is NO SD-C2404 for compaq.. and only for toshiba.. can someone help me pleasE?

If they dont work, take your DVD rom out and add the Serial number into google and download, that should work anyway.
