To turn off active X scripting do the following;
In internet explorer go to to tools and then click on internet options
Click on the Security tab
Make sure the slider is on medium level, then click on custom level
You will then see a list of Active X buttons which will include enable and disable, select disable for all of those under Active X there is about 6 different items.
Click on OK and then click on OK again, and you will have disabled all Active X scripting.
