Question does new RAM support 7 year old computer

I am planning to buy 2 GB RAM for Pentium 4 Processor, Windows XP. Currently it is running in 512.

I would like to know do the latest RAM will support my 7 year old computer.

When I go to My Computer > Properties ...It says

"Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz
Physical Address Extension"

If it is compatible, could I add 2 GB RAM in addition to 512 RAM. Do I have to check anything else ( anything in Mother Board)

I'm gussing you have a DDR2 motherboard, we need to know what motherboard you have tho, look inside the computer and on the motherboard next to the cpu mostly in big white bold letters it'll tell you the motherboard model, post it here please.
