Does it help to clean a SSD?

The only reason you'd want to "clean" an SSD is if you were selling it. If you wish to "clean" it prior to an full install, just run a quick format on it. Most vendors provide a "Secure Erase" utility if you need to "clean" your SSD. And you'd likely never need to defrag an SSD.

In fact I was already advised never to defrag an SSD. Thanks.

Most SSD Hard Drives come with utilities that will run routine maintenance for you, including defraging the hard drive

It might be a good idea to clarify this for folks who are not familiar with solid state drives. I'm guessin' you meant the mechanical HDD if there is one in the machine.

Solid State Drives use a "Trim" process, and should never be defragmented.
