The new Intel processors have 1600mhz, and they are quad pumped so you divide it by 4 and times it by two and that is the maximum speed of your RAM that can be used...

So are the AMD Phenom X4 processors quad pumped?

And also when does the new Nehalem come out for Intel and when does the new 45nm AM3 socket processors come out for AMD?

-Thank you all!

AMD platforms don't have an FSB, so no. RAM speed is determined by the NB clock.

November 18th for LGA 1366 Nehalem. Sometime in Q4, likely December for 45nm Phenom. Then Q1-Q2 for AM3 DDR3 supporting 45nm Phenom with new chipsets. The AM3 Phenoms will have DDR2 and DDR3 memory controllers so they will be backwards compatible with AM2+ boards.

Ah that's awesome so I guess I'll wait a couple months for my new computer.

What is the NB Clock?

And J03, I started off with divide by four and times by two so it's kinda been stuck in my head lol
