Unhappy Do video cards wear down?

like when i first got my 1800gto2, i played bf2142 like a dream. but as time went buy the game started to get luggesh, and now when i play its always really glitchy when ever I play, I even took all highest settings off and most of AA. Its really wierd. Before I start the game I make sure I end all my processes and keep the basic 20 processes running at the min. So iduno whats up but it sucks

well there are a few things that could be happening.
1. Overheating due to dust, so clean the fans
2. spyware etc using up resources. I'd run spybot s&d, ad-aware and an anti-virus scan. Also check msconfig for extra crap.
3. vid card saying good bye soon (which I doubt)
4. windows

Either that or your standards for what "good" was is changing. (Happens to me with everything )

More than likely it is probaly just system resources so run a disc cleanup, defrag, registry clean, spyware/virus scan, and what not.
