Default Do I need to reformat???

I want to plug my old IDE HD into my new rig and transfer the stuff from the old HD to the new HD (SATA) can I just plug it in (same OS and everything) and transfer or will I need to reformat my old HD and lose everything?? Thanks!!!

As long as you have them set up correctly (master,slave) it should work fine. You wont have to reformat.
