I am getting this message when I try to open my cd drive, It sais "The disk in drive D is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" I click yes and it said It can not be formatted. It happens with a cd not in it or with a cd in the drive. It is a Compaq deskpro p3. I have tryed my working cd burner from my other pc and it does the same thing. What could be wrong? Thanks

You don't format a removable drive, go to you administrative tools/storage. You can also go to your windows explorer and right click on the drive and then advance. Check the properties and try the troubleshooter.
? Did you remove a hard disk or delete a partition before starting to get this message.

It sends that message when ever I try to acess the drive. It is all good in the device manager. I recently put a older 13 gig hd in it because the original broke, and I formatted the new hd with all new info. I am lost on this one!!
