Default Disk Defrag. not working.

I am getting this error message when trying to utilize the disk defrag..."Defragmentation of (C: ) has been aborted due to inconsistencies that were detected in filesystem. Please run CHKDSK or SCANDISK on (C: ) to repair these inconsistencies, and then run Disk Defrag. again." I did what it said and it did not work. I ran CHKDSK and it said "Warning F parameter not specified. Running CHKDSK in run only mode." Any ideas on how to fix this?

Default Re: Disk Defrag. not working.

you're doing this through command prompt right? Do this:

CHKDSK/F

Now, this may run it or it may say some crap about something being used by another volume, but it'll let you decide whther windows will perforrm a check disc when you restart your computer.

Do this and run defrag again

Hope this helps

Ok thanks it worked. I only typed in chkdsk when I did it but now the disk defrag is working.
