Default Disable process - please help

Hi,

I need to disable a process from running permanently, I ask because there is this particular one and it is slowing my PC down. I searched it and it is a virus related process, but the characteristics/symptoms of the virus aren't being displayed on my computer. Anyway, basically, if anyone could tell me how to disable a process that would really, really help.

Cheers,

Whats the name of the service/Program?

go to start-Run-type in Services.msc and look for the service right click on it and hit properities and then click on disable and stop

Thanks for the quick reply. I've tried the services.msc but I'll try again, just need to restart as I killed the process in task manager. The process is called _setup.exe. Google it and you'll find a lot of removal guides from anti virus companies, but none of them seem to work on XP. But like I said though, I don't think I have the actual virus...
