direct X or graphic card.

we have a laptop at home which doesn't support games like the Sims. it keeps telling me to download direct X and i do but still it doesn't work. It also did the same to online game, stating that it didn't have direct X or a graphic card... well something like that. could anyone help me and tell me why it doesn't seem to know that direct X is there?

What video card do you have?

It seems you might be running off default Windows VGA drivers which won't use the Direct X and so the game won't work.

You'll need to install the drivers for your card. What graphics card have you got?

Then it'll work
