dual core is x2 of what is advertised. lets say you are gona buy a 2.0ghz core 2 duo. it is actually 4GHz because it is basically 2 processors built into 1.
That statement is completely untrue. A dual core CPU running at 2GHz does not mean it's that speed x2. It is two cores both running at 2GHz.
