difference between S-ATA 2 and S-ATA 3 HD

Provided everything in your chain (your hard drive, cabling and motherboard) are supporting SATA II, you should get transmission speed of 3GB/s. SATA III (provided everything in the chain are supporting SATA III, should bring speeds of 6GB/s.

Any drive that is 'SATA III' will be claiming to read/write at 6BG/s, this is probably not true as it would then render alot of SSDs obsolete. lol

It's not 3 or 6GB/s it's 3 or 6 Gb/s .... $5,000 ssd's in pcie slots can't even get 3GB/S let alone 6 how could a platter drive on sata 2 get 3GB/S??!?!?!? Just wanted to clerify so people to misuse the "B" as bytes, not bits...
